New Bike Seats Help Chicago Cops Keep it Up

My friend Gary Cziko offers this investigative report from a recent trip to Chicago:

"On my last trip to Chicago a couple of weeks ago, I saw some bicycle-mounted police riding on this saddle:

The officer I spoke with called it a "toilet bicycle seat" that was experimental and designed to avoid male erectile problems. He even told me that he and others had participated in research in which they attached erection measuring devices to their penises to record spontaneous erections while sleeping to see if the type of seat made a difference (he said it did).
Looks like a promising development. I didn't get the official name of the saddle or manufacturer (looks like "SM" or "STM" on the back of the saddle). So if you visit Chicago, see if you can find out more info and report back to us.
--Gary
P.S. I think it is important that bicyclists keep their reproductive equipment working well otherwise there will be evolutionary selection pressure against bicyclists, leading to future generations with less and less interest in bicycling."

that's actually an ISM saddle. that particular model is one from their 'Comfort' line. they also make about 8 'Performance' saddles for triathletes, roadies and TT's.

I ride one myself. they work. ismseat.com
