This is a famous bike apparently embedded in a living tree. Now it's not uncommon for a tree to grow around things. I've heard there is even a Harley "bike" that a tree grew around, so no big deal. Ok, that said, people still wonder if this is real. The bike almost looks Photoshopped into the tree, but apparently it's there. The next question, for those that have actually seen this bike, is how did it get higher up the tree, as a bike leaned against a tree might, eventually, be enveloped by a tree, but would not rise up the side of the tree; it's only the top part of a tree that grows up, the base of a tree just grows wider and bigger. You can trace the meanderings of the critical mind at the Museum of Hoaxes comments area for bike tree. The skeptical note that someone could have cut the bike in pieces and stuck them into the tree and helped with the eventual engulfing process of the tree, as we see when someone place a stake or pole into or near a tree (could use a professional botanist here). My own theory is the bike was either placed higher in the tree or thrown there by a storm and the tree grew around it. Apparently this is also the inspiration for Berkeley Breathed childrens book Red Ranger Came Calling.
